Angry wire diagram for 03 GTS (infinity sound sys.)

as any of you who have driven/ridden in a 3g know there is a small speaker right in the middle of the dash. well, mine's been blown for about 8months now and it's finally starting to annoy the hell outta me. i went to replace it one day but found that i would have to disassemble the ENTIRE dash (steering wheel, airbags, and all) just to make the speaker visible. needless to say i decided replacement wasnt worth it and now have my passenger seat sitting in the driveway waiting on me to figure out which wire(s) to cut/pull to disconnect the horribly placed speaker from the amp. if anyone out there knows please share with me ASAP. Thanks.

You don't need to gut the ENTIRE dash.

HOW TO: Upgrade Center speaker - Club3G Forums

And for reference: HOW TO: Tear out the whole dash, even the big piece. - Club3G Forums

Talking wow

when i bought the car i bought a shop manual on disc for it and when i looked up replacing the center speaker it told me step-by-step process which included removal of both airbags and part of the steering assembly along with the rest of the dash... they do everything the hard way. this is <some randomly made up astronomical number> times easier... especially since in my research today i found that this speaker is wired into the door speakers and not directly to the amp. thanks everythingsbs! now i gotta go delete my post on 3g before i get flamed... xD

When I had my GS, my center one blew too, but I just left it there and never had a problem with it making noise.

lucky, mine got progressively worse. started off just somewhat buzzing and, until yesterday, i wasn't able to listen to a song without a series of pops and rattling the whole time.

thanks for leading me in the right direction though, saved me alot of time and effort. i think i'm gonna try to bore out the hole like they did. if it works, great!.... if not, i'll be in the same spot i am now.

There should be a plug connector that hooks up to the speaker.
