First moves for your turbo DSM

1.First thing you need to do after you get the legal stuff done if not before is go out and buy the chilton(my pref) or the haynes manual,if you can afford to go to mitsu and get the shop manual than I would say go do it.

2. Go out and buy and install an aftermarket boost gauge. Anyone who knows tese cars will tell you the stock one in the 1 or 2G is a joke. Go get one.

3. Get a set of V or better rated tires. If you have a non-awd your car came with H rated SCARY. I am not getting into the dangers but they are real. Read the tire post so you know what your tires are for.

4. Get an oil change done. Switch everything over to synthetic i mean everything. Royal purple is a great one to use, some people like Q from Quaker state, its alot of personal choice. But the oil is better than conventanaloil its protects and helps keep it cooler.

5. Get a Manual Boost Controller. The BCS on the car is OK to begin with but once you change exhaust intake and some other things you need to be able to adjust the boost accordingly. The electric boost controllers you see on ebay might be fine for a honda I don't know but don't use it on your car, I myself have never heard anything good about them.

6. Get a tool set of metric tools the sizes you want alot of in alot of variations are the 8mm 10mm 12mm and the 14mm. You can do almost anything to your car with those sizes right there. Still get the standard and the rest of the metric set but get multiples of the sizes.

With these things done here you should be good to go for a while. Please if I forgot something guys please just post it in the reply area thank-you.

always check the timing and balance shaft belts and replace them if they look old. bad times if either goes out and way more expensive than simply replacing them in the long run

I bought one of the manuels on cd.....love that thing....my laptop goes with me when I work on the car....if I get stuck just look it up on the cd. Out of the things I have bought for my car...this is def the best investment!! Less than $10 for what would cost lots more if I had bought the actual books!

And as far as number 5 goes, make sure that if you do get a mbc, that you have supporting mods for the amount of boost you want to run. Remember tuning is the best thing you can do for you car next to regular oil changes things like that. I think the highest amount of boost to safely run on stock fuel system is about 15 psi, so keep that in mind.
